Why did I make my bratty superheroine the player’s step-sister?

The answer may surprise you!😉 

No, really. If you’re just assuming that incest is one of my kinks, you’re wrong. So the answer will surprise you.

I’m talking about the “playable worlds” (AI powered role playing story/games) I mentioned in my last couple of posts:

My explanation is going to cover two main points.

First of all, the topic of why there’s so much incest attached to online erotica for other kinks gets asked a lot. Remember, I’m into femdom with supernatural twists, so the giantess fetish goes well with that. Here are some of my (slightly edited) old posts from a giantess forum that I’ve been on for 15+ years. This was in response to a thread about why incest shows up so much in giantess stories, and why I don’t mind it:

For me, it's all about power. And family relationships tend to have different power dynamics than other relationships. To me, it's not as interesting to read about a woman shrinking a random stranger as it is to read about a woman shrinking someone she's already close to. Whether it's a sibling rivalry gone too far, a mother's betrayal of her son, a daughter rebelling against her parents, or just rivals or close friends who aren't family members, those relationships add a level of intimacy to stories that I find interesting.

To put the point in perspective, as a kid, did you ever have a crush on a friend's mother? Or your friend's sister? And when you started having shrinking/growing fantasies, did you ever imagine that mom/sister as a giantess, pushing you and your friend around? It's not about being attracted to your own mother, sister, whatever, it's about being attracted to the shrunken victim's mother, sister, etc.

Or to give another example from my own perspective: As a young adult, I used to work with a hot, 40ish year old blonde, who I hardly know, but am very much attracted to. She was really bad about taking personal phone calls in the office, and letting the world hear her personal business, so I used to overhear her talking about how much her teenage son frustrated her by getting into trouble.

As much as I might fantasize about being that woman's shrunken plaything, I wouldn't want to write a story about that woman shrinking me. We hardly know each other, so there's no interesting relationship there to build on as the basis for a story. Why would she choose me to shrink? But I could imagine writing a story about her shrinking her troublemaker son to punish him. That family dynamic makes things more interesting.

Again, I'm not attracted to my own mother, sister, etc. I'm attracted to someone else's mother.

Bear in mind, this is talking about domination fetishes, where the focus of the story is the domination, not actual sex. Sometimes, there is sex in those stories, as well. But often, there isn’t, and that’s not the main point in many of the stories.

That’s point #1.

Here’s point #2: Step-siblings aren’t incest. I’ll die on this hill, because I was literally born on it.

I have grandparents who were step-siblings before they married each other. My grandparents were both 16+ when they first met, never lived with each other before marriage, and nobody would ever try to argue that there was anything incestuous about their relationship. It just means a couple of branches in my family tree got wrapped around each other, but there’s nothing wrong with it, morally - or biologically, since they’re not blood relatives.

Of course, if we’re talking about step-siblings who lived together since they were babies, then that’s another situation, morally. They’d probably have a closer sibling relationship, and be less likely to date as adults. There’s probably a sliding scale of acceptability vs incestuousness based on the ages and how long step-siblings lived together growing up, but I’m not doing any research to get professional opinions.

So those are my two points as to why I don’t mind incest, especially not step-sibling “incest” in my domination fetish fiction. But why did I go out of my way to include it?

I wanted a superheroine character who is a “brat” to the player’s character. I wanted to avoid any pre-existing romantic/crush relationship. And I wanted them to know each other well enough to annoy each other, without outright hating each other. Siblings checks all the boxes more easily than friends, enemies, and other types of acquaintances. What other relationship was I going to use?

I went with step-siblings to rule out legitimate incest, if the player decides to take the game in a romantic direction. And I intentionally wrote the back story that said they were 12 and 13 when they became step-siblings. So when they first met, they were already going through puberty, a time when being attracted to each other might be reasonable. The back story also says that they were never really attracted to each other before, but it would have been reasonable if they were.

So there's your answer. Hopefully, it puts things in perspective.
