I'm back

As mentioned in my last couple of posts, life was really busy for the last month or so. But I'm "back" now, and hopefully, I'll have some time to start writing again soon. Maybe even later this week. Just thought I'd post the update to let you all know.

Any requests?

Where would you like to see Gotcha! go next?

So after the recent chapter update in Gotcha!, I was wondering what readers thought, and what you’d like to see in the future of this story. I’ve got a very definite ending in mind, but there’s room to insert some variety and changes along the way. So if anyone has suggestions that don’t conflict with where it’s going in the long run, I’d certainly consider them.

For instance:

21st Century Magic: Gotcha! (Chapter 12: Out of the Closet, Into the Spotlight)

After hearing Valerie’s suggestion for avoiding trouble with Mr. Helverson, Lacey was just as excited to confront the old man as she was for her planned meeting with Vicky. Unfortunately for her, neither of them showed up for those anticipated meetings.

Vicky never answered the door to her house, despite Lacey knocking and ringing the bell for several minutes.

“I know she was home, ‘cause I could sense her inside. The perv was thinking about me and getting turned on –  again! But for some reason she never came to the door”, Lacey complained later, hanging out with her friends at Katie’s house. “And then I could sense her moving around, to the kitchen, and I almost lost track of her. It was really weird. I think she may have used some sort of magic to keep me from sensing her desire, though it didn’t entirely work.”

21st Century Magic: Gotcha! - Disclaimers

If I was posting this story to another site, these are the disclaimers that I'd attach at the beginning. Given the topic of the latest chapter (coming later today), the new third disclaimer seemed like a good idea.

New chapter(s) of Gotcha! coming soon!

Once again, I'm sorry for the long delays. I'm just slow at writing even when I am feeling motivated, which isn't very often.

But I'm finally getting back to my writing, and I've made significant progress on the next chapter of 21st Century Magic: Gotcha! So expect a new chapter (or two?) to be posted soon. Possibly in the next couple of days, but almost definitely in the next week or so.

Video: Inspiration for Weekend Away story

And just for the heck of it, here's the video that inspired the Weekend Away story, so you can see what I was describing. Because she never looks directly at the camera in this video, I had to find a different vid of her in a similar outfit to use for the earlier video edit that I "captioned" as the original version of the story.

Weekend Away (A Sex Mage Story)

So as I mentioned earlier, I’m still having trouble with the specific story I had planned to finish and post by next week. So I decided to work on a different one instead, and it was short enough that I finished it quickly.

This one started as a text story, but I realized it would be very short, so I decided to try doing it as a caption for a video I edited instead. But as mentioned as #5 in my Reader’s Poll, I always intended to get back to writing the prose version of it. So here it is.

This story is set in the Sex Mage World, created by Salamando Flame. You can find his work at https://sexmagesandotherstrangeness.blogspot.com/. And to borrow the note from the beginning of his story, “Celebrity Sex Mage” (which was my intended title for this story, before he beat me to it), “This story uses fake versions of existing celebrities as a narrative shorthand. It is not meant to be a serious speculation on what their real world counter parts would be like in this scenario.” I’ve also copied his method of substituting easily identifiable fake names instead of using the actual celebrity names.

Oops

I screwed up. You know how my last post said that I have a completed story, and I just want to revise the ending? And if I couldn’t find time for the revision, then I’d just post it as is? Well, I went back and re-read the story right after posting that, and realized it wasn’t actually completed after all. It doesn’t have any ending, not even one that I don’t like. So posting it “as is” isn’t an option, after all. This is what I get for opening my mouth without checking the story first, after not looking at it in roughly two years.

I have worked on it a little since then. I’m just not entirely happy with it, and it’s not done yet. In fact, the more I work on it, the less I like the story overall. But I’m still trying to finish it, or else maybe switch to writing something else.

I’m still shooting to have something new to post by my self imposed March 16 deadline. I’m just not sure what yet. It might just be another a chapter of a completely different story, instead of the finished story that I promised.

New story coming soon!

I have a little extra free time right now, and I'm feeling motivated to get back to my writing.

And I have one story that I pretty much finished writing years ago, but I wasn't happy with the ending. I keep saying that I want to go back and change the part I don't like before sharing it with anybody. It's #2 on the Reader's Poll, in case you're wondering.

But I made a decision today: If I'll never actually get around to finishing the damn thing, then I may as well just post it as is.

So I'm setting a deadline of two weeks from today. I'm either making the changes that finish the story to my satisfaction, or I'm giving up on changing it and just posting the old, slightly less satisfying version by then.

Either way, there will be a new story on this blog by March 16, at the latest. I figure announcing it here will motivate me to actually do it. If I actually miss the deadline, I expect all 2 or 3 of my loyal readers to give me shit over it.
